About the event

During this special edition of Pop Up Science, become a disease detective tasked with tracking the presence and spread of a mysterious disease through populations of mammal species living in 8 different habitats across North America (as seen in our Panorama exhibit). Explore how museum collections can help solve real world problems! Check out our new Collections & Conservation exhibit, which explores the relationships between endangered black-footed ferrets and prairie dogs and also highlights how collections-based research can support conservation and track diseases. Plus, meet KU students who work at the museum and try out an activity simulating a "genetic bottleneck" event
