Monarch Watch Fall Open House
We'll be celebrating the arrival of migrating monarchs coming from the north with our Fall Open House. This is a free, family-friendly event.
Time & Location
Sep 12, 2026, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Foley Hall on West Campus, 2021 Constant Ave, Lawrence, KS 66047, USA
About the event
Stop by to learn about how to create Monarch Waystations (habitats that support monarchs and other pollinators) and see the magnificent butterfly and pollinator garden created and maintained by the Douglas County Master Gardeners. On a good day, over 20 species of butterflies visit the garden along with many other small but important pollinators. We'll also have tours of our gardens, numerous educational activities, tagging demonstrations, games, monarch butterflies, caterpillars, and (new this year) butterfly host plants available in limited quantities for fall planting.
