Step into the magical world of Oz in this playful, performance‑based drama class. Students will learn about the many exciting and fun characters who reside in Oz as they learn the building blocks of acting: voice, body movement, imagination, and working as an ensemble. Plan to play theatre games, work on backstories and motivations for classic and less known Oz characters, experiment with expressive voices, practice stage movement and blocking, and create simple props and costume pieces to help bring the scenes to life. Our class culminates in a colorful, collaborative classroom showcase featuring iconic scenes and moments from The Wizard of Oz, performed for family and friends on the final day of class.
